The Gateless Gate

The Great Way has no gate.
A thousand roads enter it.
When one passes through this gateless gate,
he freely walks between heaven and earth.

The Teti (Tate) Family 1944

The 50th Wedding Anniversary of Maria & Nicola Tate.  Their daughters, from left to right, Antonia, Caterina & Lisabeta.  The sons, from left to right are:
Alessandro, Vincenzo, Francesco, Pietro & Georgio.  Pietro is my father and was 32 years old at the time.  The family used the name Tate and not Teti.
This change was no doubt made at Ellis Island.  I have never seen my grandmother looking happier. She and my grandfather are both 69 yrs old in this picture.
